Bought a Shopify Store

I recently bought a Shopify store through Flippa. The process started with browsing listings, and they have a good filter system to narrow things down. Once I found a store I liked, I contacted the seller. Communication went pretty well through their messaging system, though sometimes responses were a little slow. I used their due diligence services which I found helpful; it gave me some peace of mind on the financials. The escrow process was smooth once we agreed on a price, and the funds were held securely until the transfer was complete. Post-sale, I had a couple of questions for the seller and Flippa support, and support got back to me within 24 hours, which was reasonable. I felt it was a fairly secure way to buy an online business.

Good listing experience, some issues

I used Flippa to sell a small content website a few months back. Listing it was straightforward enough, and the valuation tool gave me a decent ballpark figure. It took about 3 weeks to find a buyer, which was alright. The escrow integration worked seamlessly. My only real gripe was the success fee, it felt a bit high for a smaller sale. Overall, a practical platform but could be better on fees.

Thinking of listing my Shopify store. Is Flippa legit or just a bunch of fake listings?

D Deborah Lewis 1 month ago
Yeah, it's pretty legit. I sold a small content site there last year and everything went smooth. There are definitely some duds you gotta filter through but most are real.

It's generally safe. They have pretty strict verification processes now for seller revenue and stuff. Just gotta do your due diligence on the buyer side.

Hey, does Flippa ever do Black Friday deals for listing fees? Want to put up my e-commerce site.

E Emily C. 1 month ago
Oh yeah, totally. They usually have some kind of listing discount around Black Friday. Keep an eye out late November.

They do, I remember seeing some last year. Usually for the upfront listing fees, not the success fees later on.
